Antony Lima de Souza wins Innovation Award at FNBL Awards
On Thursday, 1 October 2020, Consult Australia hosted the FutureNet Business Leaders Awards Night, where Antony Lima de Souza and his team were awarded the inaugural Judges Innovation Award for their project submission.
Running for 16 sessions delivered across 8 months, the FutureNet Business Leaders Course is highly regarded across the industry, with its alumni in the public and private sector sought-after by employers and clients alike. The Course builds on existing personal strengths, develops new skills, and broadens networks through working in teams with industry mentors to produce a final project.
This year's challenging project included 4 teams of 5 conducting a feasibility study on the development of accommodation at the Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens in regional NSW following damage caused by the bushfires at the beginning of 2020.
Team 'Deep Creek Regeneration Retreat', consisting of Jay Holmes-Newsome (Golder), Carmen Yio (GHD), Minty Gupta (ARUP), Isabelle Stephens (RLB) and Antony Lima de Souza (MIEngineers) presented a strong and innovative design for the Gardens, which included sustainable accommodation which regarded the local community, flora and fauna - all while presenting an attractive destination for visitors from around NSW. Among only 3 awards presented on the night, the team was recognised by the judges for their innovative approach.
A big congratulations to Antony and his team who worked tirelessly throughout the year, overcoming difficulties presented by working remotely and taking it in their stride to do their companies proud.
Well done!
